Project Vision assists the construction of Charity Eye Centres(CEC) in rural China. Project Vision will give advice on layout planning to refurbish or reconstruct the site. Each CEC will elect medical and technical staff to receive training in Project Vision. Special equipment will be donated to each CEC and experts will be sent from Hong Kong to teach the local doctors to perform the surgery. When completed, the CEC will perform cataract surgery at cost to patients who can afford, and for free to those who cannot. Project Vision will audit the accounts of each CEC to ensure that the donations are well spent. A newly established CEC is expected to perform 400 to 500 cataract surgeries within the first year. |
