The 2009 Spring Concert kicked off with Joseph Haydn's String Quartet in G minor, Op.74, followed by orchestral excerpts of Felix Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 2, Op. 52 "Lobgesang". In the second half, baritone singer Mr. David Yiu performed two Tango songs by Carlos Gardel. Then the Bauhinia Ensemble, formed mostly by active and inactive members of the HKMA Orchestra, played Arcangelo Corelli's Concerto Grosso Op.No.8 in G minor for the festive season. Five short pieces performed by the wind ensemble, the Galen Winds, concluded this memorable concert.
